A high-performance aluminum window system engineered for real-world conditions
PRL’s Max window system is a versatile window platform designed for residential and commercial applications where thermal performance, weather resistance, security, and clarity are equally critical. The system combines thermally broken aluminum profiles, an ultra-slim 2 5/8” sightline, and concealed hardware, delivering a refined aesthetic without compromising structural efficiency or installation reliability.
Our Max window is designed to perform under demanding field conditions, not just in controlled environments.
This system features a triple seal gasket assembly that enhances resistance to air and water infiltration, supporting consistent performance across real-world installations.
Its thermally broken aluminum construction reduces thermal transfer through the frame, contributing to improved energy efficiency and interior comfort.
Integrated multi point locking mechanisms reinforce both security and long-term structural stability. This distributes loads evenly and supports reliable daily operation over time.
Our Max window balances performance with architectural intent through a clean, modern profile.
To accommodate different construction scenarios, the system is available in 2 different configurations:
Block Frame: Designed for masonry openings where no exterior flange is required. This configuration allows direct anchorage to concrete, block, or finished openings.
Nail Fin: Developed for new construction or full-frame replacement projects, allowing direct attachment to wood or metal framing.
Our Max window system is designed to accommodate 1” insulating glass units and can be specified with optional annealed glass or impact-resistant glazing, depending on project requirements.
This flexibility allows the system to meet demanding standards related to:
Suitable for single or multi-family, and commercial projects, our Max window provides a scalable solution where durability, efficiency, and clean detailing are essential.
All Max windows are tested under the same standardized procedures, with results varying according to window type, dimensions, and glass configuration.
The system has been successfully tested in North America and meets or exceeds key industry performance benchmarks for air, water, thermal, and structural performance.
Test procedures & results include:
Pass: Air leakage resistance
Water penetration testing
U-Factor: 0.37 Btu/hr·ft²·°F
≤ 0.3 cfm/ft² @ 6.27 psf (300 Pa)
None @ DP15 – 360 Pa
Uniform Load Structural Performance: ± DP15 – 2400 Pa
Three window typologies. One engineered system.
All Max aluminum window typologies share the same core system performance, testing standards, and architectural language. The difference lies in operation, application, and project intent.
Controlled ventilation with weather protection
Our Max awning window is designed to provide ventilation while maintaining protection against rain and harsh weather conditions. Its top-hinged configuration allows the sash to open outward, making it suitable for spaces that require airflow without direct exposure.
Available in crank-out or push-out operations, the Max awning window supports both block frame and nail fin configurations, making it adaptable to residential and commercial projects. It’s frequently specified in bathrooms, kitchens, offices, and high-exposure façades.
Key considerations
Maximum ventilation and clear openings
Our Max casement window is designed for projects that prioritize full ventilation and clear, wide openings. Hinged on the side, the sash opens outward to capture airflow more efficiently, making it ideal for spaces where air movement and user control are critical.
This typology is well suited for living areas, bedrooms, and commercial spaces that require both performance and operability, while maintaining the system’s slim profile and concealed hardware aesthetic.
Key considerations
Larger clear openings compared to awning windows
Captures airflow efficiently
Available with crank-out or push-out operations
For uninterrupted views and maximum envelope performance
Our Max fixed window is designed for applications where natural light, visibility, and envelope integrity take priority over ventilation. With no operable components, this typology maximizes air and water performance, making it ideal for large, glazed areas and façade compositions.
It’s commonly specified for feature elevations, curtain-like compositions, and areas requiring consistent thermal and weather resistance, while maintaining the slim 2 5/8” sightline and clean detailing of the Max system.
Typical applications
Picture windows
Large, glazed spans
Façade compositions requiring visual continuity
